Supplemental Applications

Supplemental applications are your chance to let admissions know more about you, your chance to shine in a different light- don’t repeat what’s on your personal narrative! Be sure to answer the question completely, don’t go off on tangents. Most questions will have word limits around 250-500 or even more. My biggest roadblock was to find what I wanted to talk about and how I can fit it all in! Put effort into this because this is your last chance to possibly score an interview with the program!

For some schools, you must meet all the minimum requirements before being asked to fill out a supplemental application. Be sure to check - some upload their questions onto CASPA, some require you to go onto their program website. Often, PA programs have additional deadlines for supplemental applications in addition to their CASPA deadlines. Most programs charge supplemental application fees of $30-80, depending on the program. They just want to ensure you’re dedicated in your decision to apply.

Do your research! Check out the program’s website, Facebook, student blogs, program magazine. Interview students, contact program alumni about what they liked about the program. Use what you've gathered and use them as points in your responses. Be specific, take your time to carefully review each question and response - this is important! Have others review your responses as well :)
